I’m a ’90s baby

I still think 1990 was 10 years ago.. and it scares me how fast time flies by, and how everything got changed so fast. Growing up in the ‘90s, music videos were my inspiration for everything. My love for fashion and imagery started with ’90s music videos and exciting fashion trends. I can clearly remember – I was 9 years old and had a television in my bedroom and I was (yep) addicted to MTV UK.

The music videos were so great in the ‘90s – full of colorful, eccentric and rebellious fashion and I would watch the music videos over and over again. Especially the strange ones were my favorites, for example Busta Rhymes – Gimme Some More with 3D effects, Missy Elliott & Da Brat – Sock It 2 dancing on a spaceship, and also Daft Punk – Around the world with neon lights & intricate choreography.

I’m really happy some of the ‘90s fashion trends made a comeback. Less than 20 years later, fashion that was considered cool in the ’90s, is cool once again. Yeey! The ‘90s was a time of menswear inspired suits, velvet chokers, overalls, crop tops, Nike Air Max sneakers, retro sunnies, denim jumpers, track pants, the list goes on and on. Whether it’s on the catwalk or on the street – these trends are finally appearing everywhere. So let’s embrace those crop tops, chokers and Dr. Martens and master the ’90s fashion trend in 2017!
